Construction is officially underway! The Brickyard is a brand-new, 31-acre mixed-use master-planned development located just west of Interstate 25 on Prairie Hawk Drive in Castle Rock, Colorado. The site was formerly the Acme Brick Company plant, and the redevelopment pays homage to that legacy by repurposing brick in its design. The developer, Confluence Companies, broke ground in September, with first-phase openings projected for around 2027, though full build-out will span several years. This is the same developer that did the Riverwalk project in downtown Castle Rock from 2017 to 2019.
The Brickyard blends residential, commercial, hospitality, and community uses in one walkable district. On the residential side, the plan includes roughly 400 apartment units and about 100 for-sale condominium units, plus townhomes, for a combined total of around 500 homes. Commercially, the project offers about 50,000 sq ft of restaurant and retail space and roughly 33,000 sq ft of office space for lease or purchase. A luxury 4-star hotel with around 125 rooms will anchor the “stay” component, and a state-of-the-art 145,000 sq ft community sports & rec center is also planned, featuring a competitive-level pool, courts, fitness areas and indoor track. Dining options are currently under contract with six new restaurants already slated to open in the early phases. Infrastructure improvements will include a new road connection to Plum Creek Parkway and an expanded trail linking downtown Castle Rock through the Brickyard to the regional trail network.
From a timeframe standpoint, the first phase (community rec center and core infrastructure) is expected to open by mid-2027, while the full district build-out may extend toward 2030. For prospects interested in purchasing or leasing, both commercial space and residential units are on offer now and 50% sold out.
